Please take a moment to read their story below.
On Sunday May 𝟷st, James Daigle was taken to the Lloyd hospital with pain in his abdomen. The doctors found an obstruction and testing showed it was cancer. He spent a week in the Lloydminster hospital before he was transferred to the Edmonton Grey Nuns hospital for surgery on May 𝟷𝟸th. 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘧𝘦 stayed with him while he was recovering from the surgery which went well, the cancerous mass was removed and he now has an Ostomy bag which he has named Fred.
James was then admitted to the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton where they ran some tests and a scan to determine where the cancer is. The scan showed that this is an aggressive type of lymphoma but the pain from the obstruction helped catch this otherwise we wouldn’t have known about it and the cancer would have spread at an alarming rate.
James has received the outline for chemo treatments and been told that this type of lymphoma does respond well to chemo. He was admitted for his first round of chemotherapy to monitor the first round of treatment. He’s also going to be undergoing natural treatment along side the chemo at Optimum Wellness Clinic to help support his immune system between treatments.
The family has been told it will be around 𝟼 chemo treatments over the next 𝟼 months. After this first treatment, the rest will be outpatient appointments so they will be travelling back and forth from Lloydminster every few weeks to Cross Cancer and Optimum Wellness Clinic for treatments.
Money raised will go towards travel expenses
